What it is for
Modified Fisher scale: grades the first non-contrast CT after aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH) by thickness of cisternal blood and presence of intraventricular haemorrhage (IVH).
Classification
| Category | Description |
|---|---|
| Grade 0 | no SAH, no IVH. |
| Grade 1 | thin SAH (focal or diffuse), no IVH. |
| Grade 2 | thin SAH with IVH. |
| Grade 3 | thick SAH, no IVH. |
| Grade 4 | thick SAH with IVH. |
| Note | any IVH counts, however small; the original paper did not give a millimetre cut-off between thin and thick. Not interchangeable with the original Fisher scale. |
