Sokolow-Lyon index
Cardiology
Also known as: Sokolow-Lyon voltage criterion · Sokolow-Lyon-Index · Sokolow-Lyon indeksi · Sokolow-Lyon index (ECG left ventricular hypertrophy)
What it is for
Sokolow-Lyon index: ECG voltage criterion for left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH).
Classification
| Category | Description |
|---|---|
| Calculation | depth of the S wave in V1 plus the height of the taller R wave in V5 or V6 (standard calibration 10 mm/mV). |
| Cut-off | more than 35 mm (3.5 mV) is consistent with LVH; some sources state 35 mm or more. |
| Related criteria | the Sokolow-Lyon voltage product (voltage × QRS duration) and other voltage criteria such as Cornell are separate measures. |
