GRACE risk score
Cardiology
Also known as: GRACE-Score · GRACE risk skoru · GRACE risk score (acute coronary syndrome)
What it is for
GRACE (Global Registry of Acute Coronary Events) risk score: a weighted model that estimates the risk of death in patients across the whole spectrum of acute coronary syndrome (ACS), with and without ST-segment elevation. Points per variable are weighted (continuous variables in ranges) and are calculated with the published nomogram or an online calculator; the point table is not reproduced here.

| Category | Description |
|---|---|
| Variables | age; heart rate; systolic blood pressure; serum creatinine; Killip class; cardiac arrest at presentation; ST-segment deviation on the ECG; elevated cardiac biomarkers (enzymes or troponin). |
| Output | an estimated probability of death (in-hospital in the original 2003 model; later models and GRACE 2.0 also estimate longer-term outcomes such as 6-month mortality); results are often grouped into low, intermediate and high risk. |
