Tossy classification
Trauma and orthopaedics
Also known as: Tossy-Klassifikation (AC-Gelenkverletzung, Schultereckgelenk) · Tossy sınıflaması (akromiyoklaviküler eklem yaralanması) · Tossy classification (acromioclavicular joint injuries)
What it is for
Three-grade classification of acromioclavicular (AC) joint injuries by damage to the AC and coracoclavicular (CC: conoid and trapezoid) ligaments.
Classification
| Category | Description |
|---|---|
| Tossy I | AC and CC ligaments sprained but intact; no deformity, at most a slight widening on the radiograph. |
| Tossy II | AC ligaments torn, CC ligaments partially torn; lateral clavicle prominent, subluxation of about half the joint height on the radiograph. |
| Tossy III | AC and CC ligaments completely torn; complete dislocation with the lateral clavicle displaced upward and a widened coracoclavicular distance. |
| Relation to Rockwood | Tossy I and II correspond to Rockwood I and II; Tossy III is split by Rockwood into types III–VI by direction and degree of displacement. |
