Binet staging

Haematology

Also known as: Binet-Stadien (CLL) · Binet evrelemesi (KLL) · Binet staging of chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL)

What it is for

Clinical staging of chronic lymphocytic leukaemia by physical examination and blood count. Five areas are counted: (1) head and neck including Waldeyer's ring, (2) axillae, (3) groins including superficial femoral nodes — each counts once even if bilateral — (4) palpable spleen, (5) palpable liver; nodes count when >1 cm.
