Key facts

Ozanimod is a sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P) receptor modulator. It is used in adults with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis and with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis.

What it is used for

Dosing

  • Dose escalation: days 1-4 0.23 mg, days 5-7 0.46 mg once daily; from day 8, 0.92 mg once daily, with or without food.
  • After interruptions (e.g. 1 day or more in the first 14 days, more than 7 days between day 15 and day 28, more than 14 days thereafter), restart the escalation regimen.
  • Mild or moderate hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh A or B): after escalation, 0.92 mg every other day; severe hepatic impairment: contraindicated.
  • No adjustment in renal impairment; caution in MS patients over 55 and UC patients over 65 years.

Contraindications

  • Vaccines may be less effective during and for up to 3 months after treatment.
