How Medelix writes, checks and corrects its articles, comparisons and calculators — AI-assisted, source-first, with an open corrections address.

Who is behind the content
The publisher is Melih Ekrem Yaz, Vienna (see the legal notice). Medelix is an information tool for doctors and medical students — not a medical device within the meaning of Regulation (EU) 2017/745 and not a substitute for clinical judgment. That applies to every article on this blog too.
How articles are written
- AI-assisted. Drafts are written with the help of language models. We say so openly.
- Sources first. Clinical statements rest on guidelines, summaries of product characteristics, primary studies or official documents. Every source is linked at the end of the article under "Sources". Sources are opened and checked against the statement before publication — a source we could not open is not cited.
- Dated, not timeless. Every article shows when it was published and when it was last updated. Medical knowledge ages; the linked primary sources in their current version are always authoritative.
- No invented people. We do not name reviewers, authors or figures that do not exist. When a physician has reviewed a piece of content, their name and the date are shown — otherwise not.
Comparisons with other products
Medelix makes a medical AI tool itself, so our comparison articles are never independent. We disclose that and follow strict rules:
- About other providers we state only verifiable facts (features, prices, availability, data processing), each with a source and an "as of" date.
- We name the genuine strengths of the other tools.
- About Medelix we state only what our own public texts (privacy policy, terms, website) document.
- Providers' own claims are reported as such ("according to the provider") without endorsing them.
If a provider tells us a statement is wrong or outdated, we check it and correct it promptly.
How the calculators are checked
For every clinical calculator:
- Formula, points and cut-offs come from the primary source (original publication or defining guideline), which is linked on the page.
- Each calculator has at least two worked examples, at least one landing in the highest risk band. They are taken from the source where it provides them, or calculated by hand from the published formula.
- An automated test recomputes every worked example on every change. A calculator whose examples do not match is not published.
- Each calculator page shows the date its formula and sources were last checked.
Found an error?
Write to contact@medelix.ai with a link to the page and, if possible, to the source. We review every report, correct documented errors and update the article's "last updated" date.
