RECIST 1.1
Oncology, staging and radiology
Also known as: Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumours · RECIST 1.1 yanıt kriterleri · RECIST 1.1 response criteria (solid tumours)
What it is for
Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumours (RECIST) 1.1 standardise imaging response, mainly in clinical trials. Up to 5 target lesions (at most 2 per organ) are measured at baseline: longest diameter for non-nodal lesions (measurable from 10 mm on CT), short axis for lymph nodes (measurable from 15 mm; nodes <10 mm count as normal).
Classification
| Category | Description |
|---|---|
| CR (complete response) | disappearance of all target lesions; every pathological lymph node must have a short axis <10 mm. |
| PR (partial response) | ≥30% decrease in the sum of target diameters compared with baseline. |
| PD (progressive disease) | ≥20% increase in the sum of diameters compared with the smallest sum on study (nadir), with an absolute increase of at least 5 mm; or unequivocal progression of non-target lesions; or any new lesion. |
| SD (stable disease) | neither enough shrinkage for PR nor enough increase for PD. |
| Non-target lesions | assessed qualitatively as CR, non-CR/non-PD or PD. |
| Overall response | combines target, non-target and new-lesion assessment at each time point; modified versions exist for immunotherapy (iRECIST) and hepatocellular carcinoma (mRECIST). |
